Ipswich Regent Theatre takes home best Arts, Culture and Theatre venue in the Muddy Stilettos Awards 2025 for the second year running!
We’re excited to announce that the Ipswich Regent Theatre has once again been crowned best Arts, Culture and Theatre venue in Suffolk and Cambridgeshire in the Muddy Stilettos Awards 2025, making us back to back winners.
Winning this award two years in a row is not just an honour, it’s a testament to the incredible dedication, passion and hard work of the entire team, both front of house and back of house staff who make everything happen. From the smiling faces that welcome you at the door, see you at our bars or show you to your seat to the tech crews, operational & show staff and management that make the magic happen, this win belongs to every single person who brings the venue to life.
We’re so proud to be part of a region that’s bursting with amazing cultural venues, and we were up against Fen Ditton Gallery (Cambridge), Gainsborough House (Sudbury), The Abberygate Cinema (Bury St Edmunds), and Thorington Theatre (Woodbridge) for the award.
We are so grateful to everyone who voted and continues to support live theatre here in Ipswich. whether it’s your first visit or your tenth, your love of the arts and commitment to our venues makes everything we do possible.
Councillor Jane Riley, Ipswich Borough Council Portfolio Holder for Culture and Customers, says:
“We’re over the moon to be a Muddy Award winner once again – thank you to everyone who voted for us!
“We knew we had to beat some tough opponents across the region, but as the biggest theatre in the East of England, we’re delighted to have achieved this accolade.
“Bringing home this award two years in a row is not just an honour, it’s a testament to the incredible dedication, passion and hard work of the entire team of staff who make everything happen, both front of house and behind the scenes.”
This award arrives at a particularly exciting moment for us, as we prepare to close the doors at the Regent Theatre for our major front of house redevelopment project. But don’t worry the magic isn’t going anywhere! We’ll be back in December to reopen the Regent Theatre in style with this year’s spectacular pantomime, Cinderella!
Find out more about this year’s magical pantomime and book your tickets to be one of the first to enjoy our new look here.
In the meantime, the show must go on and it certainly will at the Corn Exchange, where we’ve got a brilliant line-up of shows and live entertainment. There’s never been a better time to experience the Corn Exchange and maybe discover something new.
Thank you again for being part of our journey, and here’s to another year of unforgettable experiences at our venues
