The Regent Theatre Wins Again!
We’re delighted to announce that Mike “Squeaky” McClean will return to the Regent Theatre stage this December in our Christmas panto, Snow White!
Mike has now banked 11 years of festive madness at the Regent Theatre – so much so, he can now walk down the high street completely unrecognised… and he prefers it that way.
Over a decade of dodgy costumes, flying custard pies, glitter in places glitter should never be, and shouting “He’s behind you!” while quietly wondering where it all went wrong.
Mike made his Regent Theatre panto debut as Buttons in Cinderella, and since then he’s starred in Sleeping Beauty, Aladdin, Snow White, Peter Pan… the list goes on. Basically, if it involves a ridiculous outfit and some mild chaos, he’s done it – and traumatised a few elves and stagehands along the way.
He’s worked with more big names than a BBC Christmas special, but proudly declares that none of them have been his favourite. Especially that one. (He knows who he is).
This year, you may have spotted Mike in the Betfred TV ads – managing to look both professional and like he’d wandered on set to ask where the toilets were – or heard his voice on the radio shouting, “Wanna Bet, Betfred!” like a man possessed. You can also catch Mike on Instagram where he’s been filming a new comedy cooking series called .. “Let Him Cook” which has had over a million views…
He’s also been gallivanting around the UK (and occasionally the globe) with his stand-up comedy.
One thing’s for sure: over the past 11 years, Mike hasn’t just entertained Ipswich – he’s had the whole audience crying with laughter. It’s a pleasure to have him here, and long may the madness continue.
