Directors of the opera La Bohème are looking for a local pooch and its owner to take centre stage when the show comes to Ipswich Regent Theatre on 21 February 2023.

The show is looking for a small, well-behaved dog that works well with people and is calm when things are quiet, to join their owner on-stage in costume for one special performance.

To audition your dog, send a photo of them with your contact details, including the breed, height, weight, age, and name of your dog by email to Angela Klappa: angela@ellenkent.co.uk

The deadline to apply is Tuesday 7 February. The successful dog will be contacted a week before the performance.

The set reflects the Bohemian art of the period and will include a brass band, snow effects and a full choir and orchestra. It will be performed in the traditional Italian with English subtitles.

Puccini’s masterpiece, La Bohème, is based on Henri Murger’s novel Scenes de la vie de boheme. Set in Paris, it focuses on the tragic love between seamstress Mimi and penniless poet Rodolfo.

This Ellen Kent Production is presented by Senbla by arrangement with Opera International.

Tickets are on sale now for the performance on 21 February on the Ipswich Theatres website at:  ipswichtheatres.co.uk/whats-on/la-boheme-ellen-kent-and-the-ukrainian-opera-ballet-theatre-kyiv/
