Ipswich Corn Exchange is preparing for an even busier summer season ahead as the Ipswich Regent Theatre closes its doors temporarily to allow for refurbishment works to get underway.

While the theatre is closed from Sunday 4 May, audiences can still enjoy a fantastic choice of entertainment, with all performances taking place at the Corn Exchange.

A season filled with comedy awaits, with acts including Harry Hill: New Bits & Greatest Hits (28 May), Kerry Godliman: Bandwidth (6 June), Ardal O’Hanlon: Not Himself (24 September), and Alan Davies (4 October) — with even more names and upcoming talent set to take the stage throughout this summer and autumn.

Music highlights include tribute performances such Adele: The Candelight Concert (12 July), Queen of the Night: A Tribute to Whitney Houston (20 September) and The Amy Winehouse Band (26 November), along with live shows from Rend Collective (28 September) and Francis Rossi (1 October).

Councillor Jane Riley, Ipswich Borough Council Portfolio Holder for Culture and Customers, says:

“Audiences can enjoy a vibrant and diverse range of entertainment at the Ipswich Corn Exchange, while extensive redevelopment works get fully underway at the Ipswich Regent Theatre to enhance and update both the interior and exterior of the venue.

“We continue to attract plenty of big names here in Ipswich, giving local audiences the chance to enjoy top-tier comedy, music, and live entertainment right on their doorstep, and the Corn Exchange remains the perfect venue due to its central location in the heart of Ipswich.

“Then we can look forward to the grand re-opening of Ipswich Regent Theatre for the festive pantomime Cinderella, running from 12 to 31 December 2025.”
